New Beginnings

I have wanted to start a blog for two years. I grew up in Taylorsville, UT with my family of five. I have traveled much of the U.S. Country and the world. I am currently married to my second husband and will celebrate our 10th anniversary this May. My husband retired from the SLC fire department in July of 2009 and I left Ernst & Young at the same time. We built our dream home in Bedford, WY (also known as Star Valley, WY) over a period of 15 months. We built it ourselves including each cement block for our retaining walls. Each block weighs 1 ton. The picture on the blog currently shows me running the backhoe moving one of the blocks. Before retiring I didn't ever think I would learn how to make cement let alone drive a "Digger". I just thought these "Diggers" were the Star Valley SUV's or snow blowers. You can take a drive any day around our town and you will see at least 8-10 of these driving down the street. It used to crack me up. Now it doesn't even faze me. We are one of them now.
I hope to share with you in this blog the exciting adventures of what I experience each day in "Small Town Living". The wildlife will make you shake your head. The stores owners will make you bang your head on the wall. We do have a grocery store but that is a week long blog in itself. Being creative to come up with meals each day has been and adventure for me. I'm used to my husband being at the firehouse several nights a week. I haven't even found my dress shoes yet. Stay with me and you will be sure to keep your investment in your current home. The grass isn't always greener in small town living. Or..........is it?
